Marta Bretó

"About Foxes and Men: The Story of Iceland's First Inhabitant"

5 October - 4:00 pm

Municipal Theater of Lloret de Mar

Main Auditorium

First came the Arctic fox, and then the human.

Regardless of which end of the gun they are on, Arctic foxes and humans in Iceland have more in common than it might seem: curiosity, intelligence, solid social systems, and a tremendous ability to survive in the harsh conditions of these landscapes. Regardless of the nature of their bonds, forged with love, hatred, or merely survival, foxes and humans are essentially the same: Icelanders.

Marta Bretó has undertaken more than a dozen expeditions to track the Icelandic Arctic fox. Both in summer and winter, she has shared with this animal the best lights and most beautiful moments, but also the harshest weather conditions and most extreme situations, capturing images that reveal the challenges this animal faces in surviving in such a hostile environment.

After 10 years photographing Icelandic Arctic foxes, Marta will talk to us about nature and adventure, hunting and survival, light and darkness, and the relationship between foxes and humans. .
Una carta de amor a un habitante incomprendido de esta majestuosa tierra.
