Albert Masó and Adrià Grau, representing AUSTRALphoto and RIFT Valley, will give a portrait of their colleague TONI ESPADAS, who died suddenly this year in Ethiopia, showing images of him and his photographic trips, both ethnographic and safaris.
Toni Espadas was a traveller, photographer, advisor and cultural guide for trips to Africa. He had travelled to numerous countries on the continent, acquiring unique knowledge of the ethnic groups that inhabit it, its wildlife and how to organise photographic trips.
We’ll start with a tour of the life of this unique character, full of adventures, by two people who knew him well from different points of view. Then we’ll show reports on various African destinations that Toni had visited and organized, starting with ethnographic trips to Chad, South Sudan, Benin and Ethiopia. We’ll end with safaris to Tanzania, Uganda, Masai Mara and Namibia.
