Description: The beauty of nature attracted Jan van der Greef to remote places all over the world, despite his physical challenge due to polio at an early age. He shares his journey in life searching for moments of Oneness. An experience of connectivity with all things around you, a state in which thinking, insecurities and judgment evaporate. Moments in which the outer and inner world merge and nature photography starts to shed light on the Inner self.

Bio : Jan van der Greef is a scientist and a passionate nature photographer.

Bridging different perspectives is the connecting theme in his work. The gift of capturing both the emotions of the experience and the essence of nature is his signature in his fine art photography.

His photography has been awarded internationally in prestigious contests such as the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Nature Best etc.
Sir David Attenborough classified his photography as “magnificent” in a handwritten letter related to his recently published book “Reflections of the Inner Self. Dreams and Visions of Nature”.

He is a professor in analytical biosciences focusing on systems biology at Leiden university and principal investigator at “The Netherlands Institute of Applied Scientific Research” TNO. He is a member of the International League of Conservation Writers.
